Heavily collaged to create texture both for the canopy and the bird. Paper scrunched up and applied to the canvas was painted with a 'dry brush', dragging the paint across the surface and creating texture.
They are hard to spot, hidden as they are, and I wanted to create the feeling of the bird looking through the leaves.
